CiTECH™...A Young Company, With Over 70 Years Experience
A Brief History...
CiTECH Energy Recovery Systems has been headquartered in London since 1938.
The company, then known as Meten (Metallurgical Engineers) - specialised in the Steel and Glass Industries within the field of waste heat recovery systems, and specialist recuperation. Product development led the business into the Fired Process & Steam Super Heater markets, our equipment portfolio expanding with the dawn of the North Sea oil & gas era.
The first contract "Offshore" was established in 1980 with Worley Engineers for the Beatrice platform for The British National Oil Corporation and to the present day we have a fleet approaching 200 Waste Heat Recovery Units and Gas Turbine Waste Heat Recovery steam generators installed both Offshore and Onshore.
During the 1990's the business became a member of the Schack group of companies and subsequently Alstom. The activity in Norway of ABB Miljo AS was accquired, with the two companies operating as one.
2006 introduced CiTECH Energy Recovery Systems Ltd
This resulted from Alstom in accordance with their restructuring process, transferring ownership of the business to the management team.
CiTECH™'s mission being to provide equipment, project management and site services to global customers in the Oil / Gas & Marine and Process Industries.
2007 saw head operations move from London to Hull
This was initiated as part of an acquisition of a manufacturing plant which allowed CiTECH™ to provide a full in house manufacturing facility for the further development, testing and refinement of the CiBAS™ waste heat recovery range as well as direct outlets for global exportation of equipment.
2008 brought the purchase of CiTECH™ by Tanjung Offshore Berhad
The Present & Future...
Negotiations during Q3 2008 resulted in an agreement based upon a restructure of CiTECH™ being signed on Friday 22nd August 2008.
CiTECH Energy Recovery Systems UK Ltd continues trading from the same premises and in the same vein as CiTECH Energy Systems Ltd
but with the advantage of improved financial stability following the injection of significant cash resources from Tanjung Offshore Berhad.
CiTECH™ now focuses entirely on design & manufacture of its patented CiBAS™ Waste Heat Recovery fleet. Over the years CiTECH™ has found the benefits of CiBAS™ far outweigh those of traditional waste heat recovery units and CiBAS is fast becoming the first choice for its clients.
