CiTECH have been awarded the order from Nuovo Pignone for Three CiBAS C100 WHRU for the Gumusut Kakap Platform to provide heat to the on-board Oil Processing System.
The CiBAS units are designed to be cold case and to run dry, the units are specified to recover a combined total flow rate of 843,900 kg/hr and a total thermal duty of 45,000 kW recovered through a Water system from three GE 2500+ Gas Turbines
At 1,220 metres the Gumusut Kakap field is the first deep-water opportunity for Shell in Malaysia.
Sabah Shell Petroleum Company is the operator of the development, which will employ Malaysia’s first deep-water semi-submersible production system.
The field will be developed using 19 subsea wells with oil exported via a pipeline to a new oil and gas terminal, which will be built in Kimanis, Sabah.
The production system will have a peak annual production of 135,000 bbl/d.
