CiTECH have been awarded the order from SBM Imodco Houston for four CiBAS C70 WHRU for the FPSO Frade to provide heat to the on-board Gas Processing System. The CiBAS units are designed to be supplementary fired, cold casing and to run flooded. The units are specified to recoup at a combined flow rate of 1,948,000 kg/hr a total thermal duty of 69,200kwth through a fresh water system recovering heat from four LM2500 Turbines.
The heavy oil and gas field lies at a water depth of 1,128m and is estimated to contain 200m to 300m barrels of recoverable oil. The field is operated by Chevron, which has a 51.74% interest. Additional partners include Petrobras along with Frade Japá o Petròleo. The partners invested approximately $3bn in developing the field, with a peak output of 79,000 barrels of crude oil and natural gas liquids a day.
