CiTECH have been awarded the order from Jay Ray McDermott for Two CiBAS C100 WHRU for the Central Processing Platform of the Platong Gas II field to provide heat to the on-board Gas Processing System. The CiBAS units are designed to be cold case and to run dry, the units are specified to recoup at a combined flow rate of 371,492kg/hr and until gas production reaches its maximum flow the units are specified to recover a total of 16,400kwth Just before gas production is at its full process designed flow the units will be fitted with an additional coiled heat exchanger increasing the total thermal duty to 28,000kwth recovered through a Hot Oil (Therminol 55) system from two GE 2500+ G4 Gas Turbines.
The Platong II gas processing plant will be operating at 330 million standard cubic feet a day although it is designed to process 420 million standard cubic feet a day, it is also expected to produce 18,000 barrels a day of natural gas liquids.
Overall Platong Gas II will increase Thailand’s domestic production by more than 10% and boost Chevron’s net natural gas output from the Gulf of Thailand, where it has been operating for 30 years, by more than 20%.
